Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Libraries seeks applications for a Public and Access Services Director. The Director of Public and Access Services is responsible for developing and leading implementation of a vision, philosophy, and direction for the University Libraries’ Public Services, Access Services, and general operations, across three GVSU Locations: Mary Idema Pew Library and Learning Commons (Allendale), Steelcase Library (Pew Campus-Grand Rapids) and Frey Foundation Learning Commons (Health Campus-Grand Rapids). In close collaboration with the two site-based managers, the Director is responsible for coordinating and supporting the work of the department across locations, ensuring consistency in processes and application of policies and documentation for continuation of service across changing workforces. The Director maintains a deep knowledge and understanding of GVSU user needs, service delivery, and assessment models and practices. The Director serves as a contact and partner with other campus departments and units.
The Director of Public and Access Services is a member of the Library Leadership Team. In this capacity, they provide key leadership for the Libraries and lead projects and initiatives as related to their areas of responsibility and expertise.
